For those of you that don’t know, I’m a full-time beauty editor/ retired makeup artist. And when I say retired, I mean really retired (oh so I thought). It’s been years since I’ve dusted off my brushes and painted someone’s face… Anyway, last night, I came out of retirement and beautified Diana DeGarmo. Apparently Diana’s stylist/makeup artist weren’t available to dress her for Macy’s “Kiss and Tell” book launch last night, so word got around (i.e. – her publicist is one of our best friends) and my good friend Kenyatta Smith (who’s a stylist in the fashion department at Giant magazine) and I were called to get Diana ready!
So, we went over to Diana’s apartment (which is überswanky and in the heart of NYC’s famed theater district), and we had literally 30 minutes to pick an outfit, put on her makeup, and get her to the event (which was hosted by Nicky Hilton). Of course it took way longer than that. So, to paint her face, here’s what I used: Pantina All Over Nudes, Pixi Blush in Flushed, Bare Escentuals Double Precision Brush, Bourjois Rouge Hyperfix in Rouge Ultime 7, and a red MAC lip pencil (Diana’s own). Voila!

We tried on about 10 dresses Kenyatta had pulled from various showrooms, and we finally settled on a sexy, slinky, Issa dress, black tights, and black studded heels… (pic below).

FYI – here’s who showed up at the event: Nicky Hilton, Brandon Davis, Russell Simmons, Andre Harrell, and of course Diana Degarmo. One more TV celeb showed her adorable face – Ms. Chloe Dao from Project Runway. She said she won’t be taking in any shows this week, but we definitely see her again in September – that’s when the next set of contestants will compete in the tents.
Ciao!
