I Love Kinerase!

The Kinerase brand may be a household name due its celebrity spokesmodel, Courteney Cox Arquette, but it’s their anti-aging skincare line that’s really buzz worthy… Want a fresh face, and youthful skin? Allow me to introduce you to three of my favorite new Kinerase products…

kinerase-day.jpgDry skin is no competition for Kinerase Ultimate Day Moisturizer. The moisturizer’s richness is the perfect cure for those of us with in need. Kinetin, the main ingredient known for healing sun damage and other aging signs, also allows the moisturizer to dramatically improve skin’s texture, tone and blotchiness. Also, this not-so-heavy moisturizer has the rare ability to outlast the day without the feeling that you’re wearing a mask.

————————–

kinerase-night.jpg I think it’s safe to call Kinerase Ultimate Night Moisturizer the overnight 8-hour miracle. The sister cream to the Ultimate Day Moisturizer works like a band-aid to a wound, heal, and improve while you’re sound asleep. With an intense blend of plant-based extracts and other non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic ingredients for repairing and rejuvenating, this potion is perfect for banishing wrinkles and improving texture, color, and tone, while replenishing collagen production.

————————-
kinerase-c6-peptide.jpg Who likes doctor visits, not to mention the thought of needles jabbing into your face? Count me out! The newest alternative – Kinerase’s new C6 Peptide Intensive Treatment. It’s a quick-fix and painless application treatment. For the same reason that we’re told to have antioxidants as a part of our daily diet, Kinerase proves we should apply them to our skin as well. A cool cocktail blend of six amino acids, Vitamin C, green tea extract, and a few other ingredients plump skin up for a healthy glow, and it’s non-irritating, so it can act as a cure even for people with rosacea, eczema, or dermatitis. Just call C6 Peptide the cherry on your skin’s sundae!

HEY GLAM GIRLS - THINK YOU’D LIKE TO TRY THE KINERASE ULTIMATE DAY MOISTURIZER? Here’s what you need to do:

***Simply email your first & last name and address to KineraseSample@glam.com.*** Note, if you’d like the free sample, you’ll defintiely get more freeemail offers from Kinerase!

Fumbling Through That Awkward In-Between Stage?

Have you recently made the cut (i.e. chopped off your locks) and now you’re in the process of going back long? Wondering how to style your hair while you wait a few months for it to grow? No need to worry - Jet Rhys has some essential tips that’ll take you from short to long with style:

-Accessories are your friend. Headbands, scarfs, barrettes…all of these tools can help mask any uneven layers or provide a little more style. Nothing is sweeter than braids; simply add a bit of whimsy with an oversized daisy, held securely with criss-crossed bobby pins. “Try experimenting with very thin wire looped around a few times for a headband,” says Jet.

- Get a trim every 12 weeks to minimize any shaggy effects. Don’t skip this step simply because you long for length. A trim will not only prevent split ends, but it’ll also give your locks some shape and body. Jet recommends the new trim, called “Skim,” where the stylist actually skims each tip of a layer with thinning shears, instead of scissors. This will give the illusion of seamless layering and keep a longish length. No hard lines at all! “The Skim will allow for ease of styling, as hair gathers more freely when the ends are not so blunt,” says Jet.

- Keep to an overall layered look for easy styling. When drying your hair, flip your head upside down and blast the blowdryer at your roots. Instant volume and sexiness.

- Or try something a bit bolder such as a blunt bob! Both Jenny McCarthy and Victoria Beckham have sported this mid-length style, which is not only easy to style, but to maintain. It gives you sass, but keeps the internal layers longer to capture swing that is oh-so-sexy!

The Evolution of Tyra

I LOVE Tyra Banks. Like, love. As the self-proclaimed ‘Queen of Cheap’, she surely looks fabulous everytime I see her. She’s the ultimate multitasker. From supermodel to supermogul, she’s effortlessly transformed herself into a household name thanks to her latest career initiatives, namely America’s Next Top Model and the Emmy-nominated The Tyra Banks Show. Nevertheless, America’s favorite “homegirl” always finds time to keep up appearances for the camera.

Haute Hair Tips from Celebrity Stylist Steve Lococo

I had a pleasure of chatting with Steve Lococo recently – here’s the lowdown.

Who: Steve Lococo, the California-based celebrity hairstylist and Co-Owner and Style Director of Borrelli Salons (Borrelli Beverly Hills and B2V/Borrelli-Vo)
steve-head-shot.jpg
Why (you should know about him): He’s styled the locks of Kirsten Dunst, Reba McIntyre, Nicky Hilton, Jenny McCarthy, Clay Aiken, Halle Berry, Cher, Anna Nicole Smith, Diana Ross, Cher, Anjelica Huston, and Liv Tyler. He’s also worked on the set of That 70’s Show and Two and a Half Men. He’s also appeared on several makeover shows, including Extreme Makeover & Dr. 90210, as well as Dr. Phil, The Tyra Banks Show, and Good Day LA.

GlamBlush: Whose hair would you love to style?
Steve Lococo:
Lindsay Lohan needs to redo her hair. She needs a big makeover. Love to get a hold of Felicity Huffman. Her attitude exhumes a lot of lustfulness behind her look. I wanna get in there and unlock it; her hair should be wild and mysterious. Sienna Miller, just to loosen her up. Eva Longoria – her look can be calmed down. I want to give them the most they’ll allow me to give. I put the person on the next level of a great cut and color.

GlamBlush: Can you predict any new hair trends?
Steve Lococo:
I see the trend moving away from straight hair. I see movement and lots of cutting…

GlamBlush: So summer’s finally over – now’s the time to repair damaged beach hair. For future reference, how can someone can best care for their hair during the summer?
Steve Lococo:
You can do this at home. Use your favorite conditioner and mix it with water in a spray bottle and apply. Let it dry naturally; since they’ve already used it in the shower, it’ll adhere even stronger. They can take it to the beach or the pool with them. After they’re back, they can use a clarifying shampoo to wash through the hair so it’ll strip natural properties, suntan oil, chlorine, sand, etc…

GlamBlush: Great! Any other tips?
Steve Lococo:
Suntan oil helps lighten hair, so don’t use it on hair!

Candid Shots at the Emmys + an Exclusive Q&A with Napoleon Perdis

Australian makeup guru Napoleon Perdis has infiltrated Hollywood in the best way imaginable… as the official makeup sponsor of the 2007 Emmys, he was able to rub elbows on the red carpet with television’s elite, as well as touch-up their faces before/after presenting or winning an award.
napoleon-and-debra.jpg
I had a chance to chat with Napoleon after the madness died down. Here’s what he had to share about this experience:

GlamBlush: Live on the red carpet with oodles and oodles of celebrities – so exciting! How was the experience for you?
Napoleon Perdis: Surreal, gigantic, glamorous, and sexy. In Hollywood, you’re next door to everyone. There was Pat (Field), Al Gore, Kevin Bacon, Charlie Sheen, there was Patricia Arquette… it was enormous.

GlamBlush: Who were you most excited to see?
Napoleon Perdis:
Love Debra Messing. I did her makeup from start to finish on Friday night for an event, and I was really excited to see her again on the red carpet. Love her entire look and the red color hair with the black & white dress. Backstage, Sally Field – she’s a legend. America (Ferrera) is everyone’s girlfriend, very down to earth, respectful, and easy to work with.
napoleon-perdis-emmys.jpg

GlamBlush: As the makeup sponsor, what was your exact role for the Emmys?
Napoleon Perdis:
Before presenters went out on stage, I got the celebs ready and touched up their faces. It was very hot in CA, so there were many touch-ups. Once the winners won (their awards), they went into the press tent (for photos and interviews) and I did touch-ups there as well.

GlamBlush: What products were used most for touch-ups?
Napoleon Perdis:
Camera finish, long black mascara, pore minimizer & mattifier, gloss patrol, and a few other things.
napoleon-perdis-emmy-produc.jpg
GlamBlush: What’s up next for you?
Napoleon Perdis:
Resting, then coming back to NYC, I have a few commitments in Toronto as well… I have a few stores in NYC that will be opening up very soon, then headed back to Australia… we’re shooting the campaign for Australia’s Next Top Model, I’m also shooting a few HSN 5 hour segments. I’m basically busy till the end of the year.

At The Unforgivable Launch Party Hosted by Diddy

seandiddycombs_uw1.jpg

Please do me a favor. If only once in your lifetime, please make it your business to attend a P. Diddy soiree. Every girl that considers herself a GLAMonista should have the honor of attending a P. Diddy fête.

Here’s why. Last night, Diddy rented a 5-story townhouse on the Upper East Side of Manhattan to launch his newest fragrance, Unforgivable for Women, by throwing a provocative party.

Let me set the scene for you. The townhouse itself, incredibly lavish. Chaise lounges and couches everywhere. There was a fruit and chocolate bowl every few steps, and two bars on every floor. On one floor, a King-sized canopy bed with two models rolling around in the sheets while feeding each other black grapes and champagne… on another, a makeshift elevator with two models kissing… on another, two models in a steamy shower playing around in water… Get the picture? Instead of traditional cocktail waitresses, there were models walking around the party topping off our glasses with vodka and champagne clad in sexy lingerie by Kiki de Montparnasse. The music? Old school Prince tunes. The crowd? Grown and sexy - it ran the gamut from editors and publicists to socialites and tastemakers.

Oh, and the VIP list - even more fab than the venue. Sean “Diddy” Combs, Jay-Z, Beyonce Knowles, Ashton Kutcher, Aretha Franklin, Eartha Kitt, Carol Alt, Harvey Weinstein, Zac Posen, Richie Rich of Heatherette, Sky Nellor, Dr. Lisa Airan, Leven Rambin of “All My Children,” DJ Clue, Quentin Richardson, Andre Harrell, Genevieve Jones, Fabian and Martina Basabe, Bob Colacello, Irina Pantaeva, Adrienne Bailon, Carlos Mota, Allison Sarofim, Richie Akiva, Robert Verdi, and moi of course.

All in all, this party was grand. Diddy knows how to throw down. See the PG pictures below… Ciao!
