Happy Friday GLAMonistas!
So, Ive been sitting on a bit of beyond-fab news for some time now, but I’m finally ready to share! Drum roll please…
The gorgeous Rita Hazan, hair colorist to the stars, is going to be a weekly guest blogger on GlamBlush! I’m so freaking excited…

Not familiar? No worries - here are a few fun facts to bring you up to speed on the beautiful Brooklyn born-and-bred Rita Hazan:
*On how she jump started her career: “I was just 18, just out of school and knew exactly where I wanted to work. Since I always followed fashion and beauty, I knew I wanted to work at the Oribe salon. I went there for my one and only interview and got the job right on the spot, where I trained under Brad Johns.”
*Some of Rita’s celebrity clientele: Jessica Simpson, Jaime Pressly, Debra Messing, Michelle Williams, Ellen Pompeo, Rachel Weisz and Renée Zellweger.
*Rita’s advice for someone who wants to dye their hair: “The most important factor is personality. You don’t want your hair to ‘wear’ you - you want to wear your hair and have hair that compliments your skin, your eyes - hair that really reflects who you are.”
*On the biggest trend in color these days: “Tone-on-tone color, which means a few different color highlights but all in the same color family. The result looks natural but bright and bold. Not to fine and no more chunks.”
*Rita’s personal style: “I love hair and makeup of course, but I also love getting my nails done. My style is simple and classic. I love accessories, stilettos, and a great bag can make any outfit look glamorous.”
*Rita’s interests and hobbies: “Shopping and traveling are my favorite things to do, and it’s best together. I can shop for anything at anytime. I especially enjoy shopping in another country; it’s amazing what you can find. Traveling allows me to meet different people and experience other cultures. It keeps me inspired and I find it fascinating that people from all parts of the world have so much in common.”
*Rita on other beauty rituals (other than hair coloring): “Yes, I love all beauty. Makeup, spray tanning, waxing and facials, you name it. This is why I decided to open up my own salon, where all these services could be available under one roof, convenient for everyone and by the best in the biz.”
ICYDK, Rita’s salon is on the fabulous Fifth Avenue! Here’s a sneak peek:

*Rita on where she derives inspiration: “I get inspired everywhere I go - the airport, different countries, and my clients always inspire me. They help push me to excel and try new things. I also love to walk around and observe everything; the world is very colorful if you just look.”
*Rita on what’s in store for hair color in 2008: “This is the year of the blonde - golden and sophisticated. It is a happy year and blondes are sunny and light. If you’re a brunette, add some blonde highlights to it and join in on the fun this summer!”

I read your blog but never comment…I’m excited about reading her posts!
If only I could ask her about my own, personal hair color crisis that’s happening right now and needs a solution ASAP…know of another good place for un-biased hair color advice? I’m in California now and don’t trust their judgement….
