I'm a hairdresser in Northern California and I have to say rollers are making a comeback, for girls and for boys. The other day we had a Mom come in with her little boy, he was about 8. She said he was getting some pictures done and she wanted to try some curls. He had gorgeous blonde hair just below his shoulders. I washed it and set it in HER rollers and sat him under the dryer for half an hour. When they left he was still in the rollers. He didn't seem to think anything of it -- I think he's used to wearing rollers in public!

I go out in rollers a lot. I get stares and comment, but I also get a lot of compliments. Nothing wrong with your hair in rollers in public, just wear your orllers proud and with confidence.
I also take my 6 year old out in her rollers, she doesn;'t make anything of it and she ALWAYS gets compliments from the ladies.

Call me stupid, but I absolutely love the visage of a beautiful lady in rollers. Maybe this reason and maybe that reason, but I simply love women in rollers. Thanks for the forum.

Yes, I often go out during the day with my hair in curlers. I wear a roller-set hairdo, but find it difficult to sleep with curlers. In the morning I wash my hair, comb in a thick coating of setting lotion, set it on rollers, spray it, and then go to the market or wherever else I need to go. In the afternoon, I comb it out, tease it, and spray it stiff. Then I'm ready to look great the rest of the day!

I would love to meet my future wife while she was out in public with her hair in rollers. It means she likes to take care of her hair.I'd like her to take care of my hair also.

My boyfriend goes out in hot rollers most mornings to the street to get the paper and no one thinks a thing about it and all the women love his curls

I do go out occasionally in rollers -- and my BF does too! We both use velcro rollers to get more volume and bounce (his hair is shoulder length and gorgeous). I think it's not as big a fashion sin as it was 10 or 20 years ago. if we have to pop out to the market or to get our nails done or whatever, we'll sometimes leave our hair up in rollers and wear scarves over them. A couple out in rollers certainly gets a lot of stares but who cares?

I wear curlers in public a lot and I don't worry about what others think of me when I do it. Well, I guess I am a little shy when people see me in curlers. I have long hair and I like it a little curly but I have straight hair and don't want to get a perm for awhile.

I do not see a problem with going out in public with your hair in rollers.
If you are going to all the trouble of putting your hair up to look good then why shouldn't you do chores while it is drying. I don't like heat if I can avoid it, so I would run to the store etc while my hair is set and drying.
Sorry if it bothers you but it doesn't stop me from doing what I need to do while it dries.

my advice is that we as women that is comfortable with our selves and not caring about society, should live our lives as we want, hell if a man deters himself from a beautiful woman because, what is it he wants, a stepford wife
