my nails were really long and due to an injury i was not able to cut them myself. i wanted them short and assumed the manicurist would cut them prior to using a nail file. instead she "attacked" them with a nail file using the back and forth motion i know is never recommended. it actually hurt. but she thought i was just extremely sensitive. she also filed down on the sides which i know weakens the nail. sure enough, a few days later they were all breaking even though they were short. and for this she charged $38 for 20 mins work. this was not a newbie, she's been doing it for 15 years!

My fingertips are chapped and peeling after a recent manicure. This has never happened before and I'm pretty upset.

Did they screw up? What can I do to resolve the problem? I have tried MANY hand lotions, balms, etc., to no avail.

PLEASE HELP!

Thanks,
