# NYFW Matte and Muted at Matthew Williamson
By INDIA-JEWEL JACKSON 02.17.2009 imt
The beauty look at Matthew Williamson was all about a matte color palette and a naturally shadowed eye. Makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury for MAC used dull grays and browns for a naturally smokey eye. MAC eye shadows in Silver Rain and Brun were mixed to achieve a shimmery concrete gray that was first swept across the lid for a wash of color, then layered to look like a realistic shadow. Lips were lined with MAC lip pencil in Stripdown and matte lip stick in Half and Half to complete the muted look. Says Tilbury, “It’s very much reflected in the clothes, they’re more muted for Matthew. It’s a little bit of a departure for him because the girl is less boho, she’s still very cool but more chic and groomed.” To compliment the gray in the eyes, CND manicurist Amanda Fontanarrosa created a custom blended color. Says Fontanarrosa, “Of all the shows I’ve ever done, this goes best with the collection.” Mixing one part of CND’s Cream Puff to one part CND Voodoo, the resulting steel gray looked perfect painted on the models’ nails and toes. xx,Melanie Rud Technorati Tags: Glam Media, Glam.com, Glam Blush, GlamBlush, Beauty, blogs, Fashion week fall 2009, NYFW, Matthew Williamson, MAC, Charlotte Tilbury, CND, gray, smokey eye Glam Editor BlogsLatest Posts |
