Summer 2009 is all about low maintenance hair color and making color last longer.  We can expect to see a lot more highlights, because they only need to be redone every 2-3 months and grow out with a distinct line.  Blondes will be more pale, but still golden like butterscotch, toffee and baby blond. Brunettes will be more solid with just a few highlights (1-2 shades lighter than the base) to break up the color so that it doesn’t look fake or wig-like. Redheads will be redheads.  Red is a high maintenance color no matter what, because it fades faster than other colors.  We will see more copper and strawberry blondes, but still very vibrant.
