That was a Close… Shave!

Generally speaking, warmer weather means showing more skin—which means shaving/waxing/hair removal happens more frequently. While there are many options out there for silky-smooth, hair-free skin, shaving is the most convenient (no appointments necessary) and gives you the most control. And because that’s the case, we’ve put together a few tips to help you wrangle with your razor in the summer months.

1. For your underarms: Raise your arm and pull the skin taut to allow more access and then use the razor in a t-shaped pattern to get the closest shave. Our underarm hair grows in all different directions, so just shaving from top to bottom won’t work as well.

2. For your legs: Use your regular hair conditioner as shaving cream. It has a similar consistency and effect, and you’ll only have to buy one thing at the store, not two!

3. For your… down there: Prior to shaving, use warm water to open up the hair follicles to make the hair removal easier. Afterwards, run an ice cube along the area to close the pores back up—and to help prevent ingrown hairs.

We recommend the Schick Quattro for Women Trimstyle Razor & Bikini Trimmer (available on Amazon.com for $11.05), because the four blades offer a close shave and it has a conveniently attached bikini trimmer on the other end. Plus, their ads are kind of hilarious.
