As seasons change and the colder weather rears it’s ugly head, it’s a good time to change your makeup routine. Summer’s routine just won’t cut it in the winter. Try these six tips, courtesy of celebrity makeup artist, Kim White.
Load up on lotions, creams and potions.
Winter skin needs hydration, so slather on a heavier moisturizer than you may have used in the summer months.
Say yes to SPF.
UV rays are just as damaging in the winter as they are in the summer, so don’t ditch your sun protection.
Soft lips are right at your fingertips.
Mix up an at-home lip scrub (one part honey and three parts sugar). It’s a low-cost way to zap the chap!
Make sure your “base” is covering all your bases.
Winter skin is plagued by redness, dehydration and chaffing. Find a foundation that addresses all of those skin winter woes.
If blistery winds are making you a cry baby…
Cold, winter winds can make your eyes tear up. Break out your waterproof mascara so that your makeup look stays smudge proof.
Fake a healthy glow regardless of the snow.
Mix a dab of liquid highlighter in with your foundation to give sallow skin a wake-up call.
