Gucci Gets a Gossip Girl

Blake Lively has definitely achieved style icon status. The Gossip Girl star may have become a fashion plate in her role as Serena Van Der Woodsen, but it’s her bold red carpet choices that have made her stand out amongst the young Hollywood set and designers have taken notice. Gucci has just announced that Lively will be the face of it’s newest fragrance, Gucci Première. She will appear in a short film directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, which will premier on September 1st, 2012 at the Venice Film Festival; Mert & Marcus shot the ad campaign.

“In conceiving this fragrance I was inspired by timeless Hollywood glamour and the iconic leading ladies of Hollywood’s golden era,” said creative director Frida Giannini. “Blake’s unique style and charisma brings that allure to life in a very contemporary way.”

Lively, who also served as the face of Chanel Mademoiselle, joins Evan van Rachel Wood, Chris Evans and James Franco in representing Gucci’s fragrances. Perhaps a campaign is on the horizon for her handsome beau, Ryan Reynolds.
