Pound The Alarm: Nicki Minaj Is Set to Release a Pink Friday Perfume
By Angel Lenise Robinson August 22,2012
Just when you thought the world couldn’t get any pinker, it did — at least the world according to music superstar Nicki Minaj. Meet Pink Friday. No, not the name tagged on the Young Money femcee’s first two albums and worldwide tour. It’s the Pink Friday fragrance, the latest installment to Minaj’s growing empire. While the notes and release date remain hush, Minaj took to Twitter to praise the vial’s signature look. Notice anything familiar?
Barbz around the world can, in the words of Minaj, smell like “angels playing” when her busty bottle hits stores this fall. Complete with powder pink wig and pout, gilded face, and some obvious namesake bling, the packaging looks like nothing we’ve ever seen before! She’s carried her Barbie affinity over brash rap bars, fist-pumping chart toppers, and even dalliances in R&B, while inking deals with MAC Cosmetics, Adidas, and possibly American Idol. With more than 14 million Twitter followers and legions of fans dedicated to the Pink Friday pledge, there’s no question that this will be a winner! Plus, she’s got the folks at Give Back Brands behind it; if they don’t ring a bell, then certainly Justin Bieber’s Someday and Girlfriend perfumes do. Just in case you’re wondering, there will be a complete Pink Friday fragrance set with body wash and lotion in store. We can’t help but wonder what kind of flair the flacons will share. Not a big fan of Nic but I do love the perfume bottle. It is very funky futuristic.
The packaging sure is catchy and creative. I think this is my first time to see a perfume bottle designed like this. I'm really curious about the scent. Are there any releases about the base of the perfume? I'm sure that if it's oil-based, the perfume will last longer to the skin.
