Turkey: From Your Lips to Your Tips

Thanksgiving always gives us the sense of nostalgia – from certain dishes, to family, even to the construction paper turkeys we used make in school. After becoming inspired by My Nail Graffiti’s terrific turkey, we hastily decided to craft a little guy of our own to sport for #ManiMonday or when passing the plates of food around the table.

Reflecting the colors of the season, we used Oscar De la Renta’s Red Carnation, L’Oréal’s Boozy Brunch, and Zoya’s Snow White to create the feathers on our fingers. For straight stripes or a chevron look, a few pieces of scotch tape can be applied prior to each color. For the thumb, we used Orly’s Buried Alive, but recommend Dolce & Gabbana‘s Intense Nail Lacquer in Chocolate for a cream finish. We then used Milani’s Nail Art Polish in Yellow Design for the beak, but a toothpick can do the job with a different yellow polish. We used a toothpick to create the red waddle, the whites of the eyes, and the pupil with Essence’s Black is Back. With a clear topcoat, you can quickly debut your own Tom the turkey and get in touch with your inner child. Have fun!
