Are You ‘Brave’ Enough to Rock This Tartan Nail Art?

We’re suckers for a cool tartan print, and we’ve found a new way to wear the pattern this season. In honor of last week’s release of Disney Pixar’s Blu-Ray Combo Pack of Brave, the studio partnered with Butter London’s Katie Hughes to design a Disney inspired nail look that you can re-create before watching the tale of Merida.

Start with two coats of Butter London’s Nail Foundation Flawless Basecoat for a natural looking nail. Next, paint a brush-width stripe of the brand’s Queen Vic down the outside part of your nail. Then use a thin long nail art brush (or toothpick if you don’t have one on hand) to paint a thin line of Stag Do down each side of the Queen Vic stripe. With the same brush or toothpick and the same color, paint two small horizontal lines below the cuticle. Try to thee lines from going as low as the middle of the nail. Clean off the brush in acetone or nail lacquer remover or switch to a new toothpick and paint two horizontal lines of Butter London’s Sprog at the tip of the nail as well as one vertical line down the right side of the nail. Apply the brand’s Matte Finish Topcoat and allow the nails to try as you watch the movie.
