I came across the Venus de Milo statue at the tail-end of my lengthy 9-hour tour of the Louvre, and I fell in love.

While this truly is a magnificent work of art, and an important piece of classic Greek history – I have to admit, I could not stop looking at her hair! Someone please tell me – how does she have the best hair ever???

GLAMonistas, be advised: this is how waves are supposed to look. I repeat, this is how waves are supposed to look. Let Venus de Milo’s mane be your blueprint if you’re a fan of waves. Her waves are glorious. Marvelous. Splendid. I’d kill for waves like hers. Look at that detail… the curve of each wave is perfectly aligned with the curl of the next wave… which weaves in perfectly with the next wave… it’s just spectacular. Who knew sculptors paid that much attention to tress details over 2,000 years ago?

I’m still in awe. I just felt the need to share.

Nestled in the totally trendy Omotesando district of Tokyo (right in front of the Omotesando subway station), this over-the-top lash bar offers art for the eyes and fashion for your lashes. Whatever you want, they’ve got it: polka dot, peacock feathers, turquoise, or metallic; they’ve even got a mink and diamond set (that retails for $10,000!) Could falsies possibly be anymore fabulous?

All of my loyal Blush readers know of my deep affinity for all things lashes, but come on – this takes the cake. Here’s the deal:
————————-
1. Each lash is handmade and they’re virtually weightless (though they look like they’d weight a ton.)
2. The staff is highly trained in lash application. They help you choose a set, trim each lash to fit your eyes to a tee, and walk you through the steps of effectively applying falsies.
3. All lashes retail for $13 to $43 (except for the diamond/mink set).
——————————-
While you can purchase some of these lashes at Shu Uemura counters across the globe – I think the experience of actually being under the roof of the Tokyo Lash Bar makes donning a set of their avant garde lashes extra special. Whenever I make my way to Tokyo, I’ll definitely be indulging my eyes in a world of dramatic extravagance… I’m thinking peacock feathers. What type of glitzy lashes would you get?

Hey GLAM girls,

Sharon B., my favorite art aficionada, just purchased these two paintings by San Francisco-based artist Sylvia Ji, and I have to say – I’m inspired. I’ll admit, I’m not all into art that much – I’m still a poster girl (don’t ask – yes I still own several a few Marilyn Monroe posters). But these are totally fabu. Just wanted to share
FYI – I’ve just made this the wallpaper on my laptop.

Thanks for sharing Sharon! Be sure to check out more of Sylvia Ji’s dynamic work at http://www.sylviaji.com/
Kiss Kiss!
