According to WWD, singer Avril Lavigne is the next celebrity mogul to sign on to Procter & Gamble Prestige Products’ perfume line (she joins the likes of Puma & Christina Aguilera). Lavigne’s premiere scent, intended to target female customers in their early teens, will be released in late 2009. Heike Hindenlang, global marketing director for Procter & Gamble Prestige Products, comments on the inspiration for the innovative collaboration of fragrance licensing and celebrity musicians—”young teenage girls really aspire to Avril and love everything about her.” Lavigne hopes for additional fragrances to follow.
