Emma Watson is the New Face of Chanel Perfume

It feels like just yesterday I decided I finally liked Keira Knightley as Kate Moss’s replacement as the face of Chanel fragrance Coco Mademoiselle.

Now comes the news that Emma Watson, the 18-year-old Harry Potter actress just signed a two-year contract worth $6 million with Chanel to promote the scent, beginning in September.

Guess Who’s Got a Brand New Gig?

The Amelie actress will replace Nicole Kidman in 2009 as the face of the iconic fragrance, Chanel No. 5.

CHANEL has chosen Jean-Pierre Jeunet to direct the next No.5 advertising film, with the French actress Audrey Tautou starring in the leading role.

Following the films “Amelie” and “The Long Engagement,” this will be the third collaboration between Audrey Tautou and Jean-Pierre Jeunet.

Once again CHANEL has commissioned a director and his muse to write a new page in the love story between the cinema and No.5.

The film will be released in 2009.

I’ve Got Fafi Fever!

1. Fafi is French, and a French girl’s beauty mantra always includes big, fat, flirty lashes. If she trusts this mascara, so do I.
2. Such a glamorous bright pink hue! I’m glad to see Fafi’s promoting pretty pinks, as opposed to blacks and blues and burgundys.
3. See number 2. Could a lip gloss hue be any more girly?
4. While I’lll probbly only use the navy hue on my eyes, I couldn’t resist falling for such a sassy compact.
5. Who wouldn’t be pumped to pull out this ‘girl power’ makeup case to primp on the subway?

On Shevles Soon: Brace Yourself for Fafi Fever

Since last February’s Barbie Loves MAC collection was so successful, MAC is keeping the artsy, colorful momentum going, this time partnering with Parisian graffiti sensation Fafi for their newest collaboration, MAC’s Fafi Collection.

Since I went to art school, I’m well-versed in all things fabulous & Fafi, but if you aren’t, here’s a few fun tidbits:
-She’s a young 32, born and raised in Toulouse, France,
-She’s best known for creating sassy, sexy, kick-ass Japanese anime girls called ‘The Fafinettes’,
-She’s already collaborated with Coca-Cola, Adidas, LeSportSac, and Collete,
-She turned Lily Allen into a Fafinette in a Mark Ronson video.

The Fafi Collection, available for purchase nationwide on Wednesday, February 13th, is said to include six lipsticks, four Lipglasses, two eye shadow quads, six eye shadow Paint Pots, black eyeliner, two kohl pencils, two nail polishes, black mascara and two blushes, as well as three Fafinette dolls, two makeup cases, a tote bag, a T-shirt and a scarf. Retail prices range between $11 and $60 (for the tote bag).

If you’ve got Fafi fever, make sure you’re in New York City on the 13th of February - Fafi will help launch the collection at Henri Bendel’s on Fifth Avenue!

The Wave: Oh, How I Love Thee!

So, I already told you gals about my 10-day holiday jaunt to Amsterdam & Antwerp… While I had a blast and came back more replenished and refreshed than ever, sadly my skin did not. Let me start by saying, a New York winter day feels more like spring in comparison to a European winter day. IT WAS COLD. It was almost as if I couldn’t apply enough moisturizer, lip balm, or lotion to quench my skin’s thirst. No matter how much I put on, it was never enough.

When I returned, the first thing I did was assess the state my skin was in and try to figure out a way to get it back on track. I’d meant to test the Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser while on the trip (but I forgot to pack it), so I thought what better time than now? This vacation had left my skin’s tone and texture uneven, and insanely dry… if this thing really worked, I’d definitely know right away.

Boy, oh boy am I obsessed! Here’s why:

1. This easy-to-use tiny vibrating handheld miracle is a buffer + cleanser in one. Translation: It exfoliates and cleans simultaneously, so you can skip the multiple step systems.
2. It’s completely water-resistant, so I can take it in the shower with me.
3. With a simple click of a button, it gives my face a great tingling cool sensation, plus it’s a foaming cleanser so there’s no icky, filmy residue left behind after rinsing.
4. It’s safe for daily use and not abrasive at all! It literally feels like I’m rubbing a fluffy cotton ball around on my face for a few minutes.
