The Body Shop’s Coconut Body Scrub

body-shop-coconut-body-scrub.jpg

I’ve always been a fan of Body Butters from the Body Shop. After a recent trip to the spa for a body scrub, I’ve become a die hard fan of using scrubs at home. So, why not try out a body scrub by the makers of one of my favorite body butters?

The Body Shop’s Coconut Body Scrub is unlike many other scrubs because it’s actually made with the coconut shell and husk, not just the fragrance - which makes the smell much more pronounced. The ground coconut pieces serve to exfoliate dry skin, which can be a big problem during the winter months.

What I love most about the Coconut Body Scrub is the way your skin feels after you’ve rinsed it off. It leaves behind a hint of coconut oil so your skin feels smooth and moisturized. Love to love your skin? Then you’ll love The Body Shop’s Coconut Body Scrub.

Available at TheBodyShop.com for $20.

Here’s something to smile about: LUSH, the UK based cosmetic company famous for their bath bombs and Karma soap, have released a few new treats for bathtime. Yummy, Yummy, Yummy shower gel, a strawberry-almond shower cream infused with honey and vitamin E, softens the skin and smells oh-so heavenly. Plus it contains Passionflower seed oil to improve elasticity in the skin.

For a detoxifying, get down to the nitty-gritty feel try Rub, Rub, Rub shower gel, which contains sea salt and magnesium for a mega exfoliation session. This scrub also has organic lemon juice to brighten the skin and awaken your senses.

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Shimmering Touch and Twist & Spray

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Shimmering Touch and Twist & Spray

Every fabulous glamonista should have an equally fabulous weekend getaway or “overnight bag” with a few essential items. Essentials appropriate for any situation you may find yourself in. Items like sexy, hot-to-trot, make Carrie Bradshaw jealous shoes, a miracle concealer, a convertible bra, lip gloss, waterproof mascara, and most importantly, a fragrance. I personally feel naked without some sort of fragrance on my body. For my weekend bag, I am totally loving Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum Twist and Spray from Chanel. The compact spray is very sleek and is a total upgrade from the standard Atomizer. But it’s Chanel, would we expect anything less? This is a must! It comes with two refills, so it should last you awhile. If you’re a big fan of Coco Mademoiselle, try the Shimmering Touch Body Gel that leaves a sexy sheen on the skin (also a great way to layer the fragrance).

Available (this month) at Chanel.com and specialty department stores for (Eau de Parfum) $85, (Body Gel) $65.

What Kind of NYC Girl Are You?

First there was Bond No. 9. Then DKNY. Now, mass market retailer New York & Company (NY & Co) has managed to successfully bottle up the essence of NYC, and sell it. The difference? This time it’s all about the coolest, sexiest, sassiest neighborhoods on the mystical, magical island of Manhattan.

City Beauty

Introducing City Beauty, a bath + body collection that is currently available in six distinct scents online and in stores. Each scent comes in the form of a body mist, body lotion, body scrub, hand & body cream, and shower gel. Retail price, $8. Who knew you could own a small piece of Manhattan for so cheap?

Even if you’ve never been to NYC before, you can’t help but relate to one of these collections:

City Beauty Collection

By the way, in case you haven’t noticed, the packaging lightly imitates the Manhattan skyline!

Spotlight on Product Body

If you truly love the skin you’re in – allow me to direct your attention to Product Body. The lovely Joanna Schmidt is the founder/owner of this totally cool line. Get this – she makes them herself. Handmade skin products! Gotta love that.

Here’s what I absolutely positively LOVE:

Crush On You – A sugar shea scrubby wash that smells oh-so-good, and leaves your skin feeling as smooth as silk. The sugar acts as an exfoliator and the macadamia nut oil and shea butter replenish moisture.
Double Whipped Shea Butter – So ridiculously soft + it feels AND smells like Vanilla cake frosting –yummy! It’s whipped in Africa (so exotic) and it’s 100% pure shea butter, for those of you with sensitive skin.

Check back next week for more on Product Body. If you can’t wait, visit Joanna and her online boutique of skin goodies at www.ProductBodyShop.com.
