Marchesa + Stila = GORGEOUS.

File this under “We knew this was coming.”

Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman

According to WWD, Marchesa designers Keren Craig & Georgina Chapman have decided to turn their long-term backstage collaboration with Stila and Talia Shobrook into a full-blown beauty business venture.

Meet The Backstage Beauty Collection.

Marchesa Stila

And here’s where this idea goes from beautiful to brilliant: the Chapman will be a sheer red, the Craig will be a sleek nude shade, and the Shobrook will be a rich berry hue. What an amazing way to immortalize yourself… especially since these three colors will be featured on Stila’s roster forever. No capsule collection for these girls!

I’m willing to bet diehard Marchesa fans like Sienna Miller and Jennifer Lopez will be the first to scoop these lipsticks up.

Any takers?

Get Madonna’s Hard Candy Cover Look

Madonna Hard Candy cover

In case you didn’t know, for the cover of her latest album Hard Candy, Madonna (the ultimate chameleon), called on Gina Brooke, the Artistic Director of Shu Uemura, to create her super sexy look. Says Brooke, “It’s all about the eyes and we were both inspired by images taken in the sixties by photographer Sam Haskins (Cowboy Kate, Five Girls, and November Girls). I wanted to put a modern-day twist on these beautiful photographs of beautiful women from the sixties”.

Here’s how Gina designed the look using Shu Uemura products:

STEP 1: Prepare the face
Begin with prepping the eyes with the Moisture Eye Zone Mask ($43). This will not only calm puffiness but it will give your eyes the ultimate hydration. Then apply Phyto Black Lift Firming Anti-Wrinkle Cream ($125) on the whole face – it’s an amazing moisturizer and also reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Lastly, apply Face Architect Smoothing Fluid Foundation ($42) beginning at the arch of your brow down to the middle of your eye, directly onto the middle of the cheekbone. Each time the sun reflects off your skin, it will create the illusion of glowing, dewy, healthy, radiant skin!

STEP 2: Prime the eyelids
Using a Kolinsky Brush 11, apply Pressed Eye Shadow in M Beige 800 ($20) above the eyelids. Then, use Cover Crayon in 9YR Light ($24) in the inner corner and water line of the eyes to make them appear larger. Using the Drawing Pencil in Black ($19), begin at the inner corners extending the line out all the way to the end of the eyebrow.

STEP 3: Prep the lashes
Use the Eyelash Curler ($19) before applying Basic Black Mascara ($27.50) beginning at the base and rolling the brush through the tips of lashes. Apply Soft Cross Lashes ($20) to draw attention and enhance the shape of the eye.

STEP 4: Finish off with the lips
Since the focus is on the eyes, use Rouge Unlimited Crystal Shines in PK 301S ($23) layered with Gloss Unlimited in BG 930N ($22) for a soft, natural look.

How to Look Fresh-Faced and Fabulous

Ashely Olsen is incredibly inspiring to me. While she definitely takes risks in the fashion arena, her beauty look tends to more or less remain the same. I ran across this photo of her at the 2006 Independent Spirit Awards that sums up her preferred look perfectly:

Ashley Olsen Fresh-Faced

Her smooth glistening skin + lush upper lashes = PERFECTION.

Here’s everything you need to recreate her utterly flawless look:

foundation-mascara.jpg

For a seamlessly even, glowing complexion, brush-on L’Oreal Bare Naturale General Mineral Foundation. It’ll feel incredibly light on your skin, plus it’s infused with SPF & nurturing vitamins. BONUS: It’s perfect for sensitive or acne-prone skin since it won’t clog your pores. Can’t beat that.

For come-hither eyes, long lush lashes are key. Create standout eyes with Maybelline’s Define-a-Lash Volume Mascara; simply pull the brush from lash root-to-tip a couple of times, and you’re done.

Could achieving Ashely Olsen’s look be any easier? BTW - head over to your local Wal-Mart to pick both of these up must-have goodies up.

Could DermLash Be Your Ticket to Longer Lashes?

A little over a month ago, I finally decided I was over applying mascara every single morning and evening, and I thought to myself - now might be a good time to try eyelash extensions! (Got them, LOVE them, but more on that later…)

For those of you who are over mascara as well, but aren’t really ready for a serious commitment like eyelash extensions (trust me, it’s not super easy to take care of them!), DermaQuest Skin Therapy DermaLash may be perfect for you.

DermaLash

Throw away your mascara and enjoy lustrous and dramatic natural lashes with DermaLash! DermaQuest’s nourishing, natural and most importantly SAFE treatment stimulates hair follicles, resulting in longer, fuller and more youthful-looking eyelashes. It also strengthens the lashes and can prevent breakage and hair loss from assault due to factors such as allergies, pulling, rubbing, lash curling, cosmetics and heat. Featured on Rachael Ray’s Human Lab on Thursday, Feb 28, the real woman who tested DermaLash reported fantastic results!

You can view the clip here:

Key benefits of DermaLash:
~Stimulates eyelash follicles which can improve the length and volume
~Strengthens and conditions lashes which protect them from daily assault
~New lashes are able to reach their full growth potential
~Can be used on the eyebrows, too!

To apply DermaLash, apply a small amount of the gel along the upper lash line in the PM right before bed. Visible results can be seen in as soon as 3-6 weeks.

DermaLash retails for $90 and is available via http://skincarerx.com or visit http://www.dermaquestinc.com/ for a store location near you.

Excellent Red Lip Tips

Sienna Miller red lips

In a world where everything old becomes new again within the blink of an eye, red lips seem to still be having a rather trendy moment, as they’re still popping up on everyone from Sienna Miller to Katharine Heigl to Gwen Stefani to Dita Von Teese. (Maybe for these gals, it’s not just a trend - red lipstick seems like a lifeline to them.)

Anyway, if you notice, all four of these celebs have something in common - they’re all super pale-skinned. If you happen to love the red-lipped look, but look nothing like the aforementioned stars, The Sun sought to help. They asked British celebrity makeup artist Sue Moxley to break down which type reds would look best on each complexion:

~Dark skinned or olive coloured skin you can get away with almost any type of red.

~Yellow skin should avoid orangey reds and go for pinky red so as no to end up looking more sallow.

~Pale skins should be very careful and stick to brown red and blot it so its not too strong.

Look of the Day: Rebel Red Rihanna Shops in Paris

Sizzling songstress Rihanna was spotted strolling down Champs-Élysées in Paris earlier today (sans R&B boytoy Chris Brown) before she ducked into the flagship Louis Vuitton store for a little retail therapy.

rihanna-red-lipstick-paris.jpg

While many of you are probably focused on her racy red lips, I can’t stop staring at her skin; it looks like it’s been powdered within an inch of it’s life!

Rih Rih, back up off of the foundation.

On to the lips. Me likey! I think it screams sassy, sexy rebel chick. Get Rihanna’s lovely red lip look with Clinique Lost Last Shine Lipstick in Red Red Red; $14.

This HAS to Be the Fanciest Compact Ever!

Two lucky members of the human race are pulling out this blinged out L’Oréal Paris 2008 Red Carpet Compact to primp. I almost forgot to mention - it’s worth $4,900!

compact

As L’Oréal Paris’ gift to Hollywood’s leading ladies at the Oscars, this version of the stunning glittering compact features 3 carats of diamonds, set in platinum on yellow gold, with a ruby clasp.  Not available to the general public, luckily these gold-and-diamond compacts were auctioned off on eBay to benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF). They both sold for just over $1,500 each.
