Marchesa + Stila = GORGEOUS.

File this under “We knew this was coming.”

Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman

According to WWD, Marchesa designers Keren Craig & Georgina Chapman have decided to turn their long-term backstage collaboration with Stila and Talia Shobrook into a full-blown beauty business venture.

Meet The Backstage Beauty Collection.

Marchesa Stila

And here’s where this idea goes from beautiful to brilliant: the Chapman will be a sheer red, the Craig will be a sleek nude shade, and the Shobrook will be a rich berry hue. What an amazing way to immortalize yourself… especially since these three colors will be featured on Stila’s roster forever. No capsule collection for these girls!

I’m willing to bet diehard Marchesa fans like Sienna Miller and Jennifer Lopez will be the first to scoop these lipsticks up.

Any takers?

J. Lo to Launch a Men’s Scent?

She sure does have a passion for perfume. Next stop on the Jennifer Lopez fragrance train? Deseo for Men.

Deseo for Men ad

Says J. Lo to WWD: “I wanted to capture the intimate and personal nature of a man who is sexy, yet strong,” Lopez said of Deseo for Men, a counterpart to Deseo for Women, launched last September. “Deseo means desire. Desire is a universal word that expresses passion between two people. I wanted to take this meaning and put it behind the idea of one desiring another. The smell is warming and creates a provocative and sensual texture.

“We are always looking to create something new and exciting, and one thing that I had yet to do was a men’s fragrance,” Lopez continued. “After creating Deseo for Women, I was inspired to create a men’s fragrance that complemented it.”

The scent has top notes of lemon, yuzu, red berries and cedar leaf; a heart of tobacco leaves, guaicwood and orris, and a drydown of sandalwood, cedarwood, patchouli, amber and vanilla.

The collection comprises eaux de toilette in two sizes, 1.7 oz. for $45 and 3.4 oz. for $55; a 3.4-oz. aftershave balm, $40, and a 2.4-oz. deodorant, $16.

Jennifer Lopez GlamBlush

Yesterday, it was revealed that Miss J. Lo and her hubby Marc Anthony will be filming a reality show chronicling their lives as new parents, as well as showing the in-and-outs of what it takes to launch a fragrance.

As if she can’t master that last task with her eyes closed - she’s already launched six perfumes! See them all HERE.

As for the new show - it’ll be shown on TLC (The Learning Channel), though it doesn’t have a launch date yet.

Will you watch?

Rita Hazan: 10 Rules for Being a Brunette

Jennifer Lopez Anne Hathaway

1. Make sure your shade is not too dark for your skin tone, nor too light.

2. I like brunettes to have some warmth - not red! It should be rich and I like to add gold tones, otherwise it looks dull.

3. I recommend getting a few highlights to break the color up, this way it doesn’t look dense or like a wig.

4. Make sure you keep your locks hydrated and healthy, use a shampoo and conditioner that say “hydrating” on them.

5. If you have any grey and color every two weeks, try to lighten up your color by a shade or two or get highlights around the hairline.

6. If you’re a natural brunette and are starting to get grey, you have a few options:
a. Cover it completely with a permanent dye.
b. If you don’t want to color you hair with a full single process, just get a few highlights. This will help blend and camouflage the few grays that you do have.
c. For something less harsh, you can use a vegetable dye if you have limited grey.

7. Brunettes can look exotic in a world of many blondes! So if you’re looking for a change and your blonde, use a vegetable or semi-permanent dye. This will keep your hair healthy and shiny.

8. Make sure you wear the right makeup for your skin tone; otherwise you may look washed out. Sandy Linter, makeup artist extraordinaire at my salon (and who’s taught me a thing or two on having a flawless face), says that brunettes should “make sure they wear the right makeup for their skin tone, otherwise they may look washed out. A key factor with brunettes is having beautiful brows - do not over-pluck! Brows are really noticed on brunettes.

9. When you go into the sun, make sure you use products with SPF in them. Brown hair tends to fade very fast and can get orangey or brassy in the sun.

10. If you feel like your hair always turns brassy, I suggest going one shade darker.

xx, Rita Hazan
