On Shelves Soon: The Most Fashionable Hairspray

Introducing the world’s most stylish coif product, Spray de Mode, Bumble & bumble’s newest product launch in two long years! I’m willing to bet, most fashionistas are going to LOVE this one - it’s a versatile volumizing styling spray that specially formulated to give shape to free-flowing hairstyles, as well as hold intricate updos in perfect place. How many hairsprays are that good at multi-tasking?

Spray de Mode

I stopped by the fabulous launch party last night that was held in the Meatpacking District at Bumble & bumble headquarters, and I found myself mingling with Miss Jay and Nigel Barker of America’s Next Top Model fame, and Richie Rich of Heatherette. Such a cool downtown shindig!

Available for purchase on March 10 in all national Bumble & Bumble-affiliated salons, as well as Jeffery New York and Space NK, and Colette in Paris, France. 10-oz retails for $25, 4-oz is $15.

DKNY Delicious Night Threw a Swanky Party

India-Jewel’s my name, and party-hopping is my game. The hottest after-hours spot on this week’s schedule? The DKNY Delicious Night fragrance launch party.

Last night, way downtown in the West Village (seriously, could Madame DK have picked a trendier location? I think not!), I found myself in the presence of a bevy of boldface names (Rumer Willis, Zoe Kravitz, Ali Larter, Marisa Tomei, Rashida Jones, Lily Cole, and Donna Karan herself ), a slew of socialites, a few fellow beauty editors and publicists (who obviously wish to remain nameless), and one of my favorite lyricists, hip-hop MC Common - who’d just hit the stage to deliver a slamming performance as I entered the venue. Talk about perfect timing! Because I showed up a tad bit late, and the cocktails had been flowing very freely for a few hours by then - no one was really in the mood to chat. I did however, snag a bit of adorable footage of Zoe and Rumer dancing in our VIP area.

All in all, a warm and inviting ambience coupled with a few of my favorite things; beautiful people, champagne, wine, exotic fruits and cheeses, and my new-found party posse, I had a BLAST. My New York night was most certainly delicious.

At The Unforgivable Launch Party Hosted by Diddy

seandiddycombs_uw1.jpg

Please do me a favor. If only once in your lifetime, please make it your business to attend a P. Diddy soiree. Every girl that considers herself a GLAMonista should have the honor of attending a P. Diddy fête.

Here’s why. Last night, Diddy rented a 5-story townhouse on the Upper East Side of Manhattan to launch his newest fragrance, Unforgivable for Women, by throwing a provocative party.

Let me set the scene for you. The townhouse itself, incredibly lavish. Chaise lounges and couches everywhere. There was a fruit and chocolate bowl every few steps, and two bars on every floor. On one floor, a King-sized canopy bed with two models rolling around in the sheets while feeding each other black grapes and champagne… on another, a makeshift elevator with two models kissing… on another, two models in a steamy shower playing around in water… Get the picture? Instead of traditional cocktail waitresses, there were models walking around the party topping off our glasses with vodka and champagne clad in sexy lingerie by Kiki de Montparnasse. The music? Old school Prince tunes. The crowd? Grown and sexy - it ran the gamut from editors and publicists to socialites and tastemakers.

Oh, and the VIP list - even more fab than the venue. Sean “Diddy” Combs, Jay-Z, Beyonce Knowles, Ashton Kutcher, Aretha Franklin, Eartha Kitt, Carol Alt, Harvey Weinstein, Zac Posen, Richie Rich of Heatherette, Sky Nellor, Dr. Lisa Airan, Leven Rambin of “All My Children,” DJ Clue, Quentin Richardson, Andre Harrell, Genevieve Jones, Fabian and Martina Basabe, Bob Colacello, Irina Pantaeva, Adrienne Bailon, Carlos Mota, Allison Sarofim, Richie Akiva, Robert Verdi, and moi of course.

All in all, this party was grand. Diddy knows how to throw down. See the PG pictures below… Ciao!

My Night With Gap, CFDA, and Vogue

Konichiwa chicas!

I spent yesterday evening strolling around the most fashionable launch party in town, given by The Gap, the CFDA, and Vogue Magazine. Let me tell you, if you’ve never been to this type of swanky fashion soiree, you’re missing out. Champagne flows freely, appetizers are served on silver platters, reporters and editors chit-chat amongst themselves, models air-kiss one another, celebutantes are constantly followed by flick-hungry photographers – it’s really like a scene from The Devil Wears Prada. They’re always a tad bit pretentious, but super fun nevertheless. Held in the bar of the not-yet-opened Bowery Hotel, I spied with my little eye, Vogue editrix Anna Wintour, actress Tracee Ellis Ross, model Irina Lazareanu (Kate Moss’s BFF), designers Thakoon Panichgul, Doo.Ri Chung, Kate & Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte, Tory Burch, and Richard Chai. Also in the mix – Ivanka Trump, (who’s much taller than I would have ever guessed), and a few of the models from the May cover of Vogue, including my favorite - Chanel Iman.

My thoughts on the cover? G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S. Masculine femininty at it’s finest - I think it’s equastrian chic meets sweet southern belle. Several variations of the classic white button-down shirts paired with full bright skirts and heels - GENIUS!

Susan of GlamChic came to the event too – see what she had to say.

FabSugar partnered with Gap for a fantastic giveaway of the collection. Click here to learn more!

Fashion Week Daily has an in-depth review of the party - sheesh! Everyone was there!

P.S. - The Washington Post interviewed me about my thoughts on the collection - let’s hope I get featured!!!!! If you see my review, send it to beautyeditor@glam.com!

My night with Nylon Mag and Xtina

Hi GLAM girls!

splashnews_mjny210307a_18.jpgGuess what? Last night was truly a night to remember. Yours truly turned up on the rooftop of the Hotel Gansevoort for the Nylon 8th Anniversary shindig. It was sooooooo much fun. Seriously – everyone was there! Justin Timberlake, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Eve, Fonzworth Bentley, Joss Stone, Lance Bass, and… none other than the event’s hostess-slash-current Nylon covergirl Christina Aguilera (and her husband Jordan Bratman, who was attached to her hip all night). It was definitely the hottest ticket in town.

I have to say – the gift bags were kick ass. A totally cute black patent leather BB Dakota tote filled to the brim of goodies, including the new Christina Aguilera CD and KY Jelly (which was so random – then I realized they were the sponsor), plus gift certificates, t-shirts, and trinkets.

Oodles and oodles of celebs and swag on a Wednesday night - what could be better? Oh, and kudos to Nylon for the exclusive invite!

Smoking Sienna!

siennamiller_eye.jpgSo what if she’s a globetrotting, smack-talking party girl, don’t you just love her? She’s BEYOND stylish, incredibly edgy, and just plain fun. I really get into her – she really knows how to let loose and have fun. BTW, I saw her at the CKIN2U party a couple of weeks ago, and she looked so good. Not only the outfit (which was effortlessly chic), but I was more mesmerized by her smoldering stare – I mean, seriously, she can pull off heavy eyeliner like no other!
