Designer Karl Lagerfeld opted to show Chanel’s 2010 Cruise collection on the beaches of Venice, Italy—one of Coco Chanel’s favorite summer locations—because he wanted to “reinvent the mystique.” Whether he was referring to the designer’s glamour or her classic elegance, the beauty aspect of the show (created by Chanel Makeup’s Global Creative Director Peter Phillips) was spot-on.

Now, the Chanel Makeup Studio is bringing the drama and delicacy of Venice to us in a variety of bottles and compacts. We think the colors are just gorgeous—not to mention they seem to perfectly mirror the Venetian skyline at sunset.
