So, I’ve been listening to my iPod a lot recently and felt I should share the five songs I keep listening to on repeat. Some are recent, some aren’t–but they’re all very entertaining and that’s what matters. Let me know if you agree, like, dislike, or just plain loathe my choices…
#5 Apologize, Timbaland featuring One Republic
I think everyone was surprised when they found out Timbaland sang this song. It’s so unlike anything else he’s done. But it’s killer. And smart of him—finally, he’ll get some airtime on the adult contemporary radio stations!
#4 Big Girls Don’t Cry, Fergie
Yes, this song is on ALL THE TIME and yes, it’s a few months old, but I still can’t stop listening to it. On repeat. Every day.
My best good friend is responsible for showing it to me and I thank her every day on IM. (Sidenote: She’s the Editor in Chief of the blog, The Videologist, and it’s great. It features the most viral videos on the web each day. Fun, huh?Check it.)
#3 Hate That I Love You, Rihanna featuring Ne-Yo
The catchy beat is only half the reason I love this tune. I also LOVE singing along to it, mostly cause you don’t need an AWESOME voice to do so. And man has Rihanna made it clear that she is here to stay. And have you seen this video? H-O-T. Check it here on YouTube.
#2 Let Go, Frou Frou
If you’ve seen the move Garden State or even if you’ve just seen the trailer, I’m sure you’ll recognize this haunting tune. The sound is so completely unique—it moves you. Props to Zach Braff for using the not-famous-yet band on his soundtrack and even more props for using their song as the backdrop to the entire movie. See the trailer here to jerk your memory.
#1 Descending, The Black Crowes
Um, have you heard the piano in this? The emotion? The lyrics?!? It is the quintessential example of the perfect song. I’m not super familiar with a lot of this band’s material but when I heard this song, it forever made an impression. I insist you go to iTunes and listen to a preview right now (though you’ll most likely miss the AMAZING piano intro and exit. So actually, I insist you go to iTunes and buy it right now. You won’t regret it.)
