Ladies, all the ladies….
Listen up - I’m pretty sure the hottest ticket of the summer is going to be the Sex and the City premiere in NYC. Vitamin Water is hosting a contest where you can enter to win a trip to NYC and to the premiere for you and THREE of your friends… And the afterparty too… very cool.
OF COURSE I’M GOING TO SEE THIS MOVIE! It’s essentially Tina Fey and Amy Poehler (my two favorite comedic actresses) being funny for two straight hours. The clips I’ve seen of this flick look hysterical. Poehler, as we’ve seen on Saturday Night Live, absolutely becomes any character she’s playing–and this looks like no exception.
And as regular readers of this blog know, I’m totally obsessed with Tina Fey. She’s the hero for every smart girl out there. You don’t have to act dumb to be funny — you can be smart, polished, and pretty and still VERY witty and sharp. I DIG her.

Last night’s episode of How I Met Your Mother was excellent.
I wouldn’t be surprised if readers of this blog were sick and tired of hearing about this show–but it’s my way of telling you what you’re missing. Cause I know you’re missing it. They don’t have enough viewers each week for me to think that any of you are watching it. Also, every time I ask someone if they watch it, they say no. So listen to me — watch this show! It’s on Mondays on CBS at 8:30pm and it’s hilarious.
The show last night featured another music video from Robin Sparkles–and a total surprise ending which I absolutely love and can’t wait to see what happens next week. (In case you have it tivo’d, I won’t spoil the surprise.) What I will tell you about is yet another perfecetly cast guest star. This week features James van der Beek as an aged Canadian rock star. He was hilarious. This follows other great casting choices like Sarah Chalke and Britney Spears (who as we all know, is coming back).
Guys, trust me. It’s that good.
This post will literally just be me complaining. There is no real content in the body of this post and if you’re looking for huge insight, you won’t find it here. What you WILL find is my SADNESS and overall UPSETNESS that my Tivo just flat out didn’t work last Thursday or Saturday night.
That’s right… while I was out at a work function, my Tivo just DIDN’T record 30 Rock and The Office. And this Saturday, while I was in wine country, my Tivo AGAIN failed to record. This time, it didn’t record Saturday Night Live. (Yes, it was repeat, but it was a repeat of an episode I hadn’t seen before!)
Was it user error you ask? I checked that. And no. In fact, we can’t figure out WHAT caused it. All I know is, I missed my three favorite shows of the week and I’m not sure I’ll be able to get over it.
Quick confession: in addition to loving all things pop culture, I’m also totally obsessed with fashion. And one of my favorite sites (after Glam.com and GlamChic, of course) to get the style scoop is WhoWhatWearDaily.com.

I have so much to say about what I’ve seen over the last 5 days. I’m not even sure where to begin…
1) 30 Rock is back! After MONTHS of waiting for the return of network television’s funniest show, we were rewarded with an excellent episode. From MILF Island to Jack’s perfect one-liners, that show is the reason 30-minute sitcoms will never be overtaken by reality tv.
2) The Office is back! “This wine has an amazing… after-birth.” BRILLIANT! BRILLIANT! And when Jim tried to leave early and he and Pam had a tug of war with their eyes??? SO FRIGGIN GOOD. I’ve watched this again on Tivo and it’s just as funny the second time.
3) Smart People. Saw it Sunday. Love Dennis Quaid. Love Sarah Jessica. Love Victorian novels. And think Thomas Hayden Church is really good. See it.
4) I love SNL. Just kidding. I don’t like it. Just kidding. I adore it. Just kidding. I hate it. Just kidding. Kristen Wiig is awesome. Just kidding. She sucks. Just kidding. Her Travel Writer character this weekend was great. Just kidding. It was awful. Just kidding. I watched the clip 5 times. Just kididng. Only once. Just kidding. You have to see it. Just kidding. Skip it. Just kidding. Just kidding. Just kidding. Just kidding.
