Celebs Beautify The Big Apple With CITYarts and Bing

Making the most of your summer means more than backyard barbecues, rooftop respites, and holidays in the Hamptons. It’s also the perfect season to divvy up your vacation time and give back to the community. When you’ve got Microsoft’s super search engine, Bing, setting up a summer of doing good, there’s no excuse not to get involved.

Bing and DoSomething.org joined forces with CITYarts for its Summer of Doing campaign on this week to restore Harlem’s mosaic Pieces for Peace Wall. Kat Graham, Karlie Kloss, Maria Menounos, Nigel Barker, Nicole Richie, Chaske Spencer, and Corbin Bleu were in on the fun and rolled up their sleeves to retile the decade-old mural. Since its 2002 inception, the Pieces for Peace Mosaic has been a permanent fixture representing CITYarts’ initiative to unite youth from around the world through art. With plenty of volunteers, support from Lenovo, and a special performance from Graham herself, Bing’s DoSomething-CITYarts collab ensured that the staple remain part of the Jacob H. Schiff Playground for years to come.
