Star Scoop: Mark Wahlberg’s Transformers Role, Lady Gaga Give $1 Mil to Sandy Relief, Mila Kunis’ New CW Show
By Angel Lenise Robinson November 07,2012
Michael Bay may be drawing on some serious star power to add to his Transformers empire. While the director initially shot down rumors that Mark Wahlberg was to play star in Transformers 4, Bay later took to his blog to say that “internet chatter” has given him a few ideas about including the Pain & Gain actor in the newest Optimus Prime feature. [Huffington Post] Speaking of the epic Autobot-versus-Decepticon tale, a 3-D ride fashioned after the series is coming to Florida. “Transformers — The Ride 3D” will open in Universal Orlando Resort this upcoming summer, and there’s a minute-long teaser to get you ready for the thrill. [ABC News] “Thank you for helping me build my spirit. I will now help you rebuild yours.” Those are the words of Mother Monster herself, Lady Gaga, in her pledge of $1 million to Hurricane Sandy relief to the metro New York City area. She’s offering the large sum to the American Red Cross on behalf of herself, her parents, and her little sister Natali. [Yahoo News] U2 front man Bono paid a surprise visit to New York lounge, Bemelmans Bar at the famed Carlyle Hotel. Before leaving, he joined musical theater star Jim Caruso and pianist/composer Billy Stritch on stage for a rendition of his 1993 duet with Frank Sinatra, “I’ve Got You Under My Skin.” [NBC News] Ashton Kutcher flame Mila Kunis is bringing a 70s show to CW — and it has nothing to do with the syndicated hit she starred in for Fox. She’s putting on the hat of executive producer for a 1970s set drama named Meridian Hills that follows a young newlywed who strives to make a major impact during the Equal Rights Amendment era. [CNN] While we’re sure news from election night won’t die down soon, we can say that President Barack Obama wasn’t the only victor. CNN beat out Fox News as the most-watched cable news channel from 7 p.m. yesterday until 2 a.m. when the president gave his victory speech, beating the network with 100,000 more average viewers.
