By Angel Lenise Robinson December 05,2012
Reese Witherspoon will be honored this weekend for a much more private role than we’re used to seeing. The Academy Award-winning Walk the Line star is receiving the Grace Kelly Award at the March of Dimes Celebration of Babies for being a model celebrity parent who’s committed to healthy parenting and family structures. [Yahoo News] Speaking of Reese, Ms. Witherspoon is prepping her pipes for the music studio. She’ll be recording a duet with crooner Michael Bublé to be featured on his 2013 album. Judging from her voice in her “Line” performance alongside Joaquin Phoenix, we’re sure this one will be working its way up the charts! [Entertainment Weekly] If you want to see the work that led up to Jay-Z‘s epic Barclay’s Center inaugural performance, his blog, Life+Times, has it waiting for you. More importantly, if you want to see what exactly happened on his first subway ride in decades, you’re in for an Empire State of Mind treat. [E! Online] What’s better than getting the stamp of approval from television titan Oprah Winfrey? Right now, we can’t quite think of anything. That said, it’s safe to say that new author Ayana Mathis‘s rise is about to skyrocket. Winfrey added her book, The Twelve Tribes of Hattie, about a young girls journey from Mississippi to Philadelphia in the 1920s, to her book club 2.0. [Vulture] Seinfeld is coming back to a television screen near you. Well, not quite. Michael Richards, star of one of TV Guide’s “50 Greatest Shows of All Time,” has landed a new gig on TV Land. Kramer will now star alongside Kirstie Alley and Rhea Perlman in a new pilot series for the network, Giant Baby. [New York Times] Director Kathryn Bigelow‘s Zero Dark Thirty continues to rack up the wins this awards season. The Jessica Chastain-led drama won Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actress at the National Board of Review’s annual ceremony. Bradley Cooper took home the Best Actor award for Silver Linings Playbook, and Les Miserables won Best Ensemble. See the full list of winners here.
