David Bowie is Back: New Album Set for March
By Angel Lenise Robinson January 08,2013
Today is a special one, particularly for fans of 1970s glam rock. For one, it’s the 66th birthday of David Bowie, the Englishman who, since 1967, has embedded androgyny, reinvention, and cult classics into the pop-rock vein. And in a salute to nearly five decades of showering us with Ziggy Stardust, Bowie is back! Ten years after his last work, Reality, the birthday boy has graced us with a new single, “Where Are We Now?” The track is not only a welcome surprise for Bowie’s brood of loyal fans, but also the lead single from his 30th — yes, 3-0 — studio album The New Day, which is set for a March 2013 release. What’s even better is Bowie debuted an accompanying video for his newest single, a clip that returns the singer to an auto repair shop below his Berlin apartment from the ’70s — and what a surreal, moody message it sends! Check out the Tony Oursler-directed video below and (bonus!) the full deluxe tracklist from Bowie’s forthcoming album, which is available for pre-order on iTunes now.
