Glee Live! In Concert!

gleeinconcert

In an unprecedented live event, Twentieth Century Fox Television and Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy are bringing the hit television show to concert stages this spring.

Beginning Wednesday, May 18 at the Dodge Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona, Glee stars Lea Michele (Rachel), Cory Monteith (Finn), Amber Riley (Mercedes), Chris Colfer (Kurt), Kevin McHale (Artie), Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina), Mark Salling (Puck), Dianna Agron (Quinn), Naya Rivera (Santana), Heather Morris (Brittany), Harry Shum, Jr. (Mike) and Dijon Talton (Matt) will perform in a singing and dancing celebration of the Golden Globe Award winning show.

The four-city exclusive engagement, Glee Live! In Concert! is a unique concert experience conceived by Murphy that will include live performances of some of the show’s most memorable musical numbers including its anthem “Don’t Stop Believin,” fan favorites “Somebody To Love” and “Jump” and hits “Don’t Rain on My Parade” and “Sweet Caroline.”

“The response of the fans to our little show has been so immediate and so gratifying, we wanted to get out and thank them live and in person,” commented Murphy. “And what show lends itself more to a concert than Glee? We can’t wait to take this show on the road and the actors couldn’t be more excited to perform live for audiences in these four cities.”

“This has been such an extraordinary year for Glee and I can’t think of a better way to finish up the first season than performing live on stage with the cast,” commented Michele, a Broadway veteran. Added Monteith, “This show has changed my life in so many ways. If you had told me a year ago that I’d be performing classic rock songs in concert theaters around the country, I would never have believed you. We are psyched!”

Pink’s Unbelievable Grammy Performance

17145754

Wow. That’s really all I can say. Did you all see Pink’s performance last night at the Grammy Awards? It was breathtaking. She sang beautifully, and then stunned the crowd with her phenomenal Cirque-du-Soleil performance. I know it was similar to what she did at the VMAs, but I still thought it was just as impressive and absolutely flawless. What did you think?

Didn’t catch it? You have to see this … Watch it here!

Spice Up the Stage

15298184

Okay, people … Do we not remember how horrific the Spice Girls movie was? Nevertheless, a plan is in the works to create a new stage musical based on the music of the ’90s mega-group. I guess Baby, Spice, Sporty, Scary, and Ginger, and Posh will be back bringing “Girl Power” to Broadway … or maybe (hopefully) off-off-off-off Broadway. I wonder if any of the gals will star as themselves.

It will be produced by Judy Craymer who was behind both the stage and screen versions of Mamma Mia … so maybe it does have potential.

Would you go see a Spice Girls musical?
