I’ve always loved Gavin Rossdale’s voice. I didn’t really know A LOT of his band Bush’s songs, but I was obsessed with their song Glycerine.

That all said, I am super excited about his first solo album, WANDERlust. And I got to hear some snippets from it and let me tell you, IT IS AWESOME.

This post will literally just be me complaining. There is no real content in the body of this post and if you’re looking for huge insight, you won’t find it here. What you WILL find is my SADNESS and overall UPSETNESS that my Tivo just flat out didn’t work last Thursday or Saturday night.

That’s right… while I was out at a work function, my Tivo just DIDN’T record 30 Rock and The Office. And this Saturday, while I was in wine country, my Tivo AGAIN failed to record. This time, it didn’t record Saturday Night Live. (Yes, it was  repeat, but it was a repeat of an episode I hadn’t seen before!) 

Was it user error you ask? I checked that. And no. In fact, we can’t figure out WHAT caused it. All I know is, I missed my three favorite shows of the week and I’m not sure I’ll be able to get over it.

I have so much to say about what I’ve seen over the last 5 days. I’m not even sure where to begin…

1) 30 Rock is back! After MONTHS of waiting for the return of network television’s funniest show, we were rewarded with an excellent episode. From MILF Island to Jack’s perfect one-liners, that show is the reason 30-minute sitcoms will never be overtaken by reality tv.

2) The Office is back! “This wine has an amazing… after-birth.” BRILLIANT! BRILLIANT! And when Jim tried to leave early and he and Pam had a tug of war with their eyes??? SO FRIGGIN GOOD. I’ve watched this again on Tivo and it’s just as funny the second time.

3) Smart People. Saw it Sunday. Love Dennis Quaid. Love Sarah Jessica. Love Victorian novels. And think Thomas Hayden Church is really good. See it.

4) I love SNL. Just kidding. I don’t like it. Just kidding. I adore it. Just kidding. I hate it. Just kidding. Kristen Wiig is awesome. Just kidding. She sucks. Just kidding. Her Travel Writer character this weekend was great. Just kidding. It was awful.  Just kidding. I watched the clip 5 times. Just kididng. Only once. Just kidding. You have to see it. Just kidding. Skip it. Just kidding. Just kidding. Just kidding. Just kidding.

Okay, so everyone knows I’m obsessed with The Office. So I was totally thrown for a loop when NBC announced they are doing a spinoff of the show this winter! And that’s all they’re sharing. That there’s a spinoff and it’ll come Winter 2008.  

I have mixed emotions about this. This means someone on the show will be leaving - meaning the chemistry might change, even if ever-so-slightly. A peice of the puzzle will be missing. Permanently. But more importantly, it means we’re taking a character in a particular environment that we love and surrounding it with new characters that we may or may not love. Many shows have tried this in the past. Most have failed (Joey, anyone?)

The jury is still out on Private Practice (though not for me–I think it’s lame-ish). I LOVED Addison on Grey’s and was sad she was leaving the mix to go do her own thing. And the new cast of characters just isn’t that fun. Yes, Tim Daly’s a babe, but I’m bored of everyone else. THAT is what scares me about this. Dwight is funny AT Dunder Mifflin. Will it work if we watch him go somewhere else? And if Jim or Pam leaves, that will be L-A-M-E.

I don’ t want ANYONE to go! I even love Kelly!

I’m DYING for The Office and 30 Rock to return. It feels like forever away. Happily, my best good friend and fellow funny-sitcom watcher if coming to visit me so we’ll be able to experience this priceless moment together.

Jim Halpert, I miss you.
