Today’s Special: Fashion People Playing Nice
By G J Donnelly November 08,2007
Who ever said the fashion crowd is a snobby bunch is certainly in for a surprise, as the well-shoddiest will show off their warm, cuddly, and considerate sides this week–and this week only. First, Aeffe–the production and PR mothership of Jean-Paul Gaultier, Alberta Ferretti, and more–has just opened its doors to the masses and offer its designer wares at steeply discounted prices. Isn’t that so nice of them?
And right this very second, Roberto Cavalli is taking a break from his globe-trotting and VIP party-hopping ways to take a low-key turn. The designer is camped out at New York’s 51th Street H&M store, giving away autographed photographs (which, admit it, would look fantastic hanging in your cubicle, wouldn’t it?), t-shirts and gift cards. Freebies + Mr. Cavalli = Fantastic. What are you waiting for? Get over there asap! Cavalli is also there to check out his collection for the Swedish super-store, which you can do just as easily now, by skipping on over to Glam. (How’s that for being thoughtful?)
Now, as a general rule I abhor standing in line for anything (waiting, sock-less at airport security is my least favorite post) but a chance to get some Gaultier plaid or Cavalli’s John Hancock just may put my own snobbish tendencies to test. If you think you’re up to the challenge, be sure to take note of the info below:
