It’s not pretty, but I’ll admit it: Part of my delay in posting stuff today is a result of last night’s party-hopping. Sad but true, it was a long night: I kicked off the evening by swinging the Humane Society’s Third Annual Cool Versus Cruel bash. The winners of the Society’s annual anti-fur design contest (see them all online here) sat on display and while wandering around them I spotted Charlotte Ronson, Erin Fetherston, Jay McCarroll, Mick Rock, and listened to Rain Phoenix and her band Papercranes perform.

I then stopped by Atlantic’s 150th Anniversary party which was attended by an inspiring but decidedly non-fashion crowd which included Moby, Arianna Huffington, Patti Smith, Robert DeNiro, and more. I’ll have to check to see if Miss Huffington blogged about the fete too.

Jean Cassegrain, Maggie & Michel

Even with these two cocktail fly-bys I managed to make it to the Longchamp store in Soho just in time for dinner. Across the room in the boutique’s plush penthouse floor sat Maggie Gyllenhaal and Michel Gaubert, the famous French DJ who recently unveiled the limited-edition line of bags he designed for Longchamp. Lonchamp head-honcho Jean Cassegrain was on hand to host the event, which drew Leighton Meester and Nicole Fiscella from “Gossip Girl,” model Lily Cole, photographers Mick Rock and Mary Ellen Mark.

I had to good fortune of sitting with a few of my favorite fashion editors including Kelly Culp of Page Six Magazine (which, if you haven’t already, you have to get your hands on one), Faran Krentcil of Fashionista (check out the site’s fantastic new redesign!) and the globe-trotting Tracey Lomrantz of Elle.com. Seeing Miss Lomrantz reminded me that I needed to vote on my pick for their Yours by Design/ Thakoon T-shirt contest—a move I’ve been putting off because of my indecisiveness. So many good designs have been submitted! How does one choose? Worst part is that last night’s champagne flutes aren’t helping the decision-making process today.
