Timothy Hutton & Natalie Portman in Beautiful Girls
We interrupt GlamChic’s fashion coverage to bring to your attention the surprising news that everyone’s favorite juke box tune, Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline, (for shame if the reference doesn’t instantly call to mind the perfect Beautiful Girls) was actually inspired by Caroline Kennedy. The Associated Press announced the connection this morning, and was quick to point out that there was no May-December romance involved in the story. Even so, the fact that the song—which was written by a then 26-year old Diamond when Caroline was a mere 10 years old—was included in the soundtrack for Ted Demme’s 1996 film seems even more appropriate.
