It might be of interest to you Project Runway fans to know that the show’s hostess with the mostess Heidi Klum has now ventured into the virtual world. Miss Auf Wiedersehen herself has been morphed into an avatar and partnered up with Stardoll, which essentially functions as a Second Life for teens. (For the luddites in the lot, let’s just say such online communities take the pretend-playing routine to whole new, and often lucrative levels.)
Stardoll members will have the chance to dress up Miss Klum’s Stardoll in a variety of garb (methinks the snowflake costume she donned at the Victoria’s Secret show will be a favorite). The under 17 set will also be able to snap up pixtelated versions of the supermodel’s jewelry for their own online mini-Mes at Starplaza, the site’s shopping mall which bears an uncanny resemblance to L.A.’s Beverly Center. No word on if a virtual Seal will appear as the Ken doll to Klum’s Barbie, but here’s hoping.
