While the arrival of Jennifer Lopez—clad in baby blue tent dress which did little to disguise her 8 ¾-month silhouette—caused quite a commotion at the Marchesa presentation, the label’s fall gowns were even more striking. In a palette of jet, crimson, and steely celadon and fashioned out of pleated chiffon, satin, and clusters of silk rosettes, the collection could only be described as regally glamorous—and likewise, could only be worn on the red carpet. Though the Oscars look a little doomed and Vanity Fair cancelled it’s annual all-star bash, cross your fingers that some of these perfectly decadent confections will be worn by A-listers of Lopez’s ilk on February 24th.
