The spring 2009 presentation that was Tory Burch – A. Mazing! As far as Fashion Week goes, I’ve made a “Top 5” list of my absolute favorites. And let me just tell you, Ms. Burch has climbed her way to the top. My only impression I had ever had of the chic designer was the pair of turquoise flats I own, which of course I love, but meeting her and chatting with her in person made my day. So nice, so pretty, (so petite!) and so sophisticated. As the models switched places every few minutes on the square block front and center, Tory made her way around the Chelsea gallery, greeting her guests and posing for pics. You could tell just how excited and close to her heart she holds this collection. It gave the atmosphere a totally different feel and a stunning one at that.
The Collection: Magical, Classy, Attractive, Sophistication at its Best.
There were hats, stripes, necklaces, high-waisted skirts, ruffled shirts, cropped pants and belts. Basically, anything you need for a stocked-up wardrobe was in this room. It reminded me of a classy hard-working woman, off to the beach for a relaxing yet fun weekend, dressed to impress, but not in a flashy way. Although classy ensembles, there were a few pieces that spiced up the ambience. Logo tees, (Prince is on the front!) a swimsuit paired with an equestrian-esque blazer and mixed patterns put together.
After speaking with Tory, so grateful that I loved the collection, said the inspiration was simple. The whole thing revolved around the “textures, the sunny colors and the prints.”
Well put. Loved it! – Erin Dustin
