Finally the heavens have parted, the angels are singing, and someone up there has definitely answered our prayers. The rumors that were circulating about a certain world-renowned designer for Target proved to be true. Alexander McQueen will be joining the illustrious list of designers to collaborate with Target in creating an affordable line for their customers. Starting in March, McQueen will be one of the first established designer’s to work with the retailer in order to create a new fashion initiative called Designer Collaborations. GO International has already been hugely successful in providing affordable pieces for the masses from new and young emerging designers. Now McQueen will be heading this new program for Target.
McQueen will be creating a lower-priced version of his McQ collection; called McQ Alexander McQueen for Target available in stores for only a limited amount of time. Each designer contributing to Designer Collaborations will choose the inspiration for their Target line from a muse. McQueen has chosen British band The Duke Spirit, so get ready for a lot of punk-inspired pieces. His collection will include: skinny jeans (of course!), fur, studs, darks mixed with bright accents, chunky sweaters, and edginess to spare. No one understands Brit fashion as well as Alexander McQueen and being able to own one of his iconic pieces with a Target price tag is something dreams were only made of. Now that it is becoming a reality, make sure you don’t miss when it hits stores in March (that’s 3 months to mark on your calendars).
Although we are excited for this collaboration we can’t help but be even more thrilled for the collaborators to come, who do you think will be joining Target next? Vivienne Westwood, Stella McCartney, YSL? Our hysteria can hardly contain itself with all of the possibilities. Alexander McQueen at Target!?
You read it right. This outrageous fashion icon brings his own brash brand of style to Target to ensure that this coming spring will bursts forth with flair. Sure to be a show stopper, so don’t waste any time getting to the nearest Target to snatch up these threads!
