Marc Jacobs Breaks the Rules

painted the town pink Thursday night. Louis Vuitton’s creative director joined the brand in paying tribute to Stephen Sprouse with parties around the city. (For extensive coverage click here) Jacob’s, who collaborated with Sprouse in 2001 on the Monogram Graffiti collection, expressed his admiration for the designer in The Stephen Sprouse Book, a new tome being released this month by Rizzoli.

 ”We broke all the rules that season; I had been told that we were not allowed to change the monogram. We were not allowed to do this. We were not allowed to do that…I’m not a rebellious person, but I  do like to take risks, and Stephen was the first person that I worked with who helped me to break the rules here.” –Marc Jacobs
