Fashion designer and native Californian Rachel Roy is the epitome of modern refinement. She designs for the classy, busy and accomplished woman. Roy distinguishes herself by creating apparel that is not only flirty and figure-flattering, but comfortable. Roy elevates this word, which we so often associate with flannel pajama pants or our oversized college sweatshirt. We love her ability to always remain remarkably elegant.

How would you describe your Fall 2009 collection?
For Fall 2009, I explored the simplicity and strength of elegance, unveiling the understated energy that derives from this relationship.

Women who are comfortable in their own skin. Women that pull off chic without the effort but with all the passion of believing the choices they make.

What three things can you not live without?

Laughter, Love and Light.

What are your guilty pleasures?
Bad TV.

I’ve followed this credo during my career: “Dress for the job you want, not the job you have”.
