Heads bobbed and feet tapped at Monarchy‘s lively “Smoke and Mirrors” fall/winter 2009 show. Black and white ensembles consisting of high-waisted skinny pants and jodhpurs were worn with high collared blouses and equestrian boots by Dover Saddlery. Among the many fun trouser looks, black draped jersey dresses were scattered throughout the show. (Even country gals need a LBD from time to time.) Tartan capes and long khaki trenches charmingly brought the collection together and gave us visions of vacationing in the Scottish countryside with a handsome rogue of a man. With this got-to-have it look, all you need to do now is tackle Gaelic. ~ Maria Denardo
