#NYFW Armani’s A-List Ensemble

It was just the type of party the fashion industry was looking for. And the much needed dose of glamour came from Giorgio Armani, who celebrated the opening of his new Fifth Avenue flagship. It’s funny how it takes venerable Italian designers to bring out the major star power. Last year Gucci brought in the big guns with the Madonna hosted bash for Unicef at the United Nations. This year it was Armani’s turn and he didn’t disappoint. On Wednesday evening he brought out the big guns. Victoria and David Beckham, who have his and hers Armani underwear campaigns, were joined by Alicia Keys, Solange, Rachel Zoe and Milla Jovovich in heralding the massive space. “This is just amazing,” said Posh as she entered the grand Fifth Avenue flagship. Liam Neeson was introduced to Keys on the crowded steps and when Armani saw her he was equally excited. “Ah bella,” he exclaimed. Keys for her part was pretty impressed with the space, pausing to choose a few sweaters she was interested in. “This store in a humongous statement from an amazing man,” she said. Chase Crawford seemed to fit right in with fellow heartthrobs Leonardo DiCaprio and John Mayer. Ricky Martin was there too. Every nook and cranny of the elaborate space was packed with notables. (Editors note: we spent 20 minutes in line for the restroom with Mira Sorvino) The circular ramps climbing the massive flagship were reminiscent of the Guggenheim’s iconic interior. At the top of the staircase nearly every major editor and buyer circulated with cocktails in hand, taking breaks from supreme people watching to nibble on Armani chocolates. Overall it was an Armani affair to remember. ~ Nola Weinstein Glam Editor BlogsLatest Posts |
