Do you remember that scene in The Sound of Music when the children serenade the party guests with “So Long, Farewell”? I’ll divulge a secret…I’ve always wished my life were a musical and instead of actually saying goodbye, I could set it to some snappy tune and everyone would join in. Sadly, the real world isn’t chock full of Julie Andrews, and people don’t normally burst into song. The next best thing to a musical number is a blog, and so today’s post is dedicated to all things having to do with farewells and moving alongs. They say goodbyes are bittersweet, but it seems to me that goodbyes always taste more of  lemon than they do sugar. But endings are only sad when you are leaving something that will be missed. And all that means is that your experience was terrific, which in the end isn’t anything to be sad about at all! So in the infamous words of the Von Trapp children, “I hate to go and leave this pretty sight. So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, adieu.”~Emily Popp
