Zero+Maria Cornejo Takes to the High Line
By ADMIN 06.11.2009 imt
New York City can be a tiring place. At times we dream of a far away land–a beautiful and serene escape–but for most of us that’s not a reality. High Line to the rescue. The High Line is a new park set above ground in the heart of the Meatpacking District (running from Gansevoort Street to West 20th Street, in Chelsea between 10th and 11th Avenue). Developed on an old rail line, it’s a trendy and innovative piece of green above the city bustle. The project has inspired artists and designers alike. From 2001-2002 photographer Joel Sternfeld photographed the High Line during the different seasons called “Walking the High Line,” which in turn inspired designer Zero+Maria Cornejo to create exclusive silk charmeuse prints based around the pictures, resulting in a beautiful collection. (Cornejo is another Michelle Obama favorite) The print is somewhat abstract and distorted, but works brilliantly with the pieces. With part of the proceeds from the design going to ‘Friends of the High Line’ the designs are truly an investment worth making. The loop scarf, top and dress will be available at Zero+Maria Cornejo stores and zeromariacornejo.com.~Adam London Glam Editor BlogsLatest Posts |
