Oprah and Anna are at it again. Wintour, Winfrey and Gap’s Patrick Robinson will co-chair this year’s Costume Institute Gala on May 3, 2010. The trio will unveil the exhibit American Women: Fashioning a National Identity, which is based on the Brooklyn Museum’s Costume Collection. This is not Oprah’s first Vogue encounter, the dynamo famously appeared on a 1998 cover after a dramatic weight loss; she shed over 20 lbs. at the editrix’s urging. She also sat front row with Wintour at a Vera Wang Spring 2003 show. Though Oprah is often considered one of the most powerful women in America, Anna is certainly a contender and we can’t wait to see what this duo will pull off. Vogue can certainly benefit from the “Oprah effect” and we’re beyond excited at the thought of Wintour sitting down in Harpo Studios for a long interview. We’re also pretty certain these hosts can wrangle the Obamas for the evening; expect the Met Gala to be more star studded and potent than ever! ~Nola Weinstein
