Designers Kick Off Fashion’s Night Out 2010 at City Hall

This morning we had the opportunity to attend the 2010 Fashion’s Night Out kick-off at City Hall. Anna Wintour, Mayor Bloomberg, NYC & Company CEO George Fertitta and Steven Kolb Council of Fashion Designers of America Executive Director banded together to share some details on FNO 2010, which has far surpassed the scope of last year’s extravaganza. This year over 950 retailers will be participating throughout the five boroughs. On December 10th the festivities will run late into the night with stores closing at  11pm.

We asked Wintour where she shops, and she responded quite diplomatically–”Everywhere!” So expect to find the Vogue editrix bopping about town.

With top American designers like Marc Jacobs, Donna Karen, Vera Wang, Zac Posen, Tommy Hilfiger, Carolina Herrera, Mary-Kate Olsen and Tory Burch in attendance, the Mayor announced that this year’s Fashion’s Night Out will be the largest public fashion show in the history of NYC. Aside from the shopping event, a collaborative FNO Fashion Show will take place on September 7th at Lincoln Center.  The show will feature over 150 top models and fall trends determined by Vogue. With tickets starting at only $25, is a great way to join in on the fashion gaiety. We’ll see you there! ~Daniella Asantewaa
