Catherine Malandrino is bowing out of New York Fashion Week this season. The designer, whose show always draws a solid mix of celebs and fashion insiders, has canceled her Spring 2012 show. A spokesperson for Malandrino did not give an explanation, but said the designer will return to the runway in February.

In other disappointing fashion week news, Max Azria’s Spring 2012 show has also been canceled. The designer’s BCBGMAXAZRIA and Hervé Léger shows will go on as planned. Perhaps showing three collections per season is just a bit too much for any design house to handle.
