Barbie is returning to New York Fashion Week this season and she’s bringing most of her wardrobe with her. The style icon is opening up her Dream Closet, both online and at Lincoln Center, and allowing guests to virtually try on some of her favorite outfits from the past 50 years. We caught up with the fashionable doll to get the scoop on her favorite designers, must-have accessories, and her past sartorial choices.

What will you be wearing this Fashion Week?
My outfits not only vary from day to day, but also from show to show. I’ll definitely be wearing my fave trends rights now: bright pants, lace and tailored blazers!

What shows are you looking forward to attending this season?
This question has always been tough to answer and now that I’m a fashion designer, it’s even tougher! I can’t wait to see the Rodarte show, attend the Polyvore Live show and, fingers crossed, run into the a-mazing DVF at her show!

Ever commit a fashion faux pas?
When I look back at pictures from the 70s and 80s I definitely giggle at some of my fashion choices, but I’ve always loved my clothes when I wore them. So in my eyes, no!

Who is the designer to watch this season (besides you, of course)?
Aw, thanks doll! Definitely Chris Benz! Between his work upcoming with the fab First Lady, and his a-mazing hair, I’m counting down the days until his presentation!

Do you ever let your girlfriends borrow from your fabulous closet?

What’s your must-have accessory for the week?
For the California sunshine, it’s usually sunglasses, but I’ve been packing for NYFW all day and I can’t wait to wear my new cashmere infinity scarves!
