#NYFW: J.Mendel Fall 2012

Gilles Mendel’s Fall 2012 collection floated down the runway Wednesday afternoon. This season, the designer derived inspiration from the visual texture of Gaudi’s work in Spain and the way Diana Vreeland interpreted it for Vogue through the lens of Helmut Newton. A structure–yet ethereal–influence prevailed with garments that concealed and revealed. Coats billowed, fabrics flirted, and strategically crafted cutouts made for a glamorous peek-a-boo effect.

J.Mendel continues to exude a sense of luxury, elegance, and refinement and come Oscar night we expect to see several of this season’s stunning pieces on the red carpet.
