Despite the sweltering heat, celebs, models, and fashion insiders including Solange Knowles, Chrissy Teigen, Adrien Grenier, Joan Smalls, Damaris Lewis, and Erin Heatherton braved the near three digit temperature for a good old-fashioned block party on Wednesday afternoon. To celebrate the official first day of the summer season, Solstice Sunglasses & Safilo Group launched the new Carrera 6000 collection by blocking off a portion of the Meatpacking District, and setting up temporary shop!

As an escape from the treacherous heat, guests slipped into the Solstice tent for a photoshoot of sorts, trying on the brand new sunglasses while posing against a background of perfect blue skies. In between snapsnots, (more than necessary) fruit infused refreshments made the rounds, along with light snacks like proscuitto and melon from city favorite, Serafina. Though sunnies and summer were the topics of the day, it seemed like exciting, celebratory news abounded. Joan was positely grinning all thanks to her newest magazine cover for W, while Adrian admitted that an Entourage movie is in the works!
