Barneys Boasts Serious Shoe Game
By Bianca Posterli July 16,2012
Carrie Bradshaw would be in heaven.
As a celebration of all things footwear, Barneys New York has redesigned their fifth floor to serve as a 22,000-square-foot haven for shoes, shoes, and yes, more shoes. With creations from designers including Balenciaga, Givenchy, Sergio Rossi, Manolo Blahnik, Pierre Hardy, Giuseppe Zanotti, and Maison Martin Margiela, this addition to Barneys provides women and men with an expansively beautiful way to add to their shoe collections. Following aesthetic inspiration from Creative Director Dennis Freedman, the new space is not only visually pleasing, with minimal walls for maximum shoe viewing, but also provides ample lush seating, ideal for an afternoon spent trying on multiple pairs of swoon-worthy shoes.
Given everyone’s love for a brilliant pair of shoes, Barneys matched their new launch with a fresh campaign, celebrating Perfect Pairs … in more ways than one. From Monday, July 16 to Sunday, July 22, Barneys New York is set to donate 10% of sales to the Human Rights Campaign in support of their fight against discrimination of LGBT people and the continuation of marriage equality and for every love letter uploaded on Facebook, Barneys will donate $1 to the HRC.
Love for shoes and love for each other, what could be more perfect?
