#NYFW Spring 2013: Rachel Zoe Brings Her Effortless Glamour to the Runway
By Nola Weinstein September 12,2012
Rachel Zoe is no stranger to the catwalk. As a frequent front row face, she understands the ins and outs of the industry and Wednesday afternoon she finally brought her own collection to the runway. For several seasons she opted for more informal presentations but this time she went big. With friends like Brian Atwood, Olivia Palermo, Harvey Weinstein, and Joe Zee cheering her on while her precious Burberry-clad son Skyler sat on hubby Rodger Berman‘s lap, Zoe sent out an effortlessly cool collection that was just so her.
Inspired by Jane Birkin‘s androgynous aesthetic and the relaxed glamour of Talitha Getty, the designer presented a well edited mix of dresses, caftans, knits, and menswear inspired suiting. Texture added a unique touch with sequin paillettes and leather enhancing several pieces. The color palette was pulled from the northern Italian coastline with pops of salmon, tangerine, and azure brightening up sandy hues. Spring 2013 was the perfect reflection of Zoe’s sensibility.
